Which kind of Monteverde tour do you want?
Tours around Monteverde fall into five types: hanging bridge walks, ziplines, night walks, guided daytime walks in a reserve, and farm tours. They run at different places and are priced separately. A bridge ticket does not include a zipline, and a reserve ticket does not include a night walk, so compare them one by one.
The prices below are those published by the operators in October 2026, for one adult. Some add 13% tax and fees, and some leave transport out. Always check the total at checkout. This site is an independent guide and does not run any of these tours.

What each type of tour gives you
Details behind the table.
Hanging bridge walks and the Monteverde Sky Walk
You walk a path through the forest crossing bridges. Selvatura asks you not to jump, sway the bridges or climb on structures, and not to feed animals or eat on the path. Treetopia describes its Sky Walk as open to all ages, though only part of it suits wheelchairs and limited mobility.
Hanging bridges โZiplines
Minimum ages run from 4 to 6, and weight limits differ by park and by element, such as the Superman line or the Tarzan swing. Closed shoes are required. 100% Aventura names heavy rain, nearby thunderstorms and strong wind as reasons to cancel.
Ziplines โNight walks
Night walks run in the early evening and after dark. A kinkajou walk takes place on a private farm, while the Monteverde reserve and Curi-Cancha run their own. Sightings depend on luck, and no operator can promise a species.
Night tours โGuided reserve walks
A guide helps you spot things you would walk past. Santa Elena asks for at least one day of notice for guided walks and says animal sightings cannot be guaranteed. Curi-Cancha guided tours require a reservation.
Santa Elena Reserve โThe Don Juan coffee tour and El Trapiche
A coffee tour in Monteverde comes in two farm versions, and both combine coffee, chocolate and sugar cane. Don Juan offers a tour of about 1 hour 40 minutes in English or Spanish, with parking available and transport at an extra cost. El Trapiche runs a 1 hour 45 minute tour on a 0.7-mile (1.1 km) path of moderate difficulty, with up to 14 people per group, daily at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Don Juan tours in Monteverde
Besides the farm tour, Don Juan lists a night walk of about 1 hour 30 minutes in English or Spanish, with transport optional at an extra cost. Check the operator's page for the current price.
A chocolate tour in Monteverde
If you mainly want a chocolate tour, choose one of the two combined farm tours above, because both add chocolate to the coffee and sugar cane.
Prices for these two tours vary between listings, so confirm the total and what it includes before you pay. Ask whether transport is part of the price, because both operators treat it as an extra.

What to check before you book
The same price can mean different things.
Tax and fees
Selvatura lists prices plus 13% tax and fees, so the amount at checkout is higher than the list price. Other parks may state their tax differently. Compare totals, not list prices.
Per person or per group
Most tour prices are per person. Private guides at the Santa Elena Reserve are priced for a group of one to three people, so a higher number does not mean a higher price per head.
What is included
Curi-Cancha includes entry and a guide in its tour price but offers no transport. Don Juan treats transport as an optional extra. Selvatura tickets cover only the activity you choose.
Getting to the start
For the Monteverde reserve you park at the visitor center and use a free shuttle. For 100% Aventura and Curi-Cancha, transport is not included, and Monteverde Extremo charges $10 per person. Selvatura lists a hotel transfer that is free when you book a canopy or bridge ticket and otherwise $7.50 per person, mainly for hotels within about 1.9 miles (3 km) of the center, so confirm it when you book.
Reservations and notice
Curi-Cancha requires a reservation, and Santa Elena guided walks need at least one day of notice. Book the Monteverde reserve ahead. Check the cancellation terms of every tour.
Weather
Rain and mist are normal here. Operators may cancel a canopy tour for heavy rain, thunderstorms or strong wind, and the Monteverde reserve offers a rebooking or refund if it cancels. See weather and seasons.

Monteverde tours: frequently asked questions
Is there one ticket for all Monteverde tours?
No. Selvatura says each ticket is valid only for the activity you choose, and reserves, parks and farms sell their own. Add up each tour you plan to take.
Do tour prices include transport?
Usually not. Curi-Cancha does not offer transport, Don Juan lists it as an extra, 100% Aventura does not include it and Monteverde Extremo charges $10 per person. Selvatura offers a hotel transfer that is free with a canopy or bridge booking, otherwise $7.50 per person.
What is the best tour for a first visit?
It depends on what you want. A guided walk in a reserve suits wildlife and forest. A bridge walk or zipline suits views and activity. A night walk shows the forest after dark. Pick one from each group if you have three days.
Can children join these tours?
Many can, with minimum ages. Ziplines start at ages 4 to 6 depending on the park, Selvatura sells bridge tickets for ages 4 to 11, and Curi-Cancha lists a rate for ages 5 to 20. Children under 18 go with an adult at Curi-Cancha.
Is a tour cancelled in bad weather?
It can be. Operators name heavy rain, nearby thunderstorms and strong wind as reasons. Ask each operator what happens to your booking in that case.
